Getting to Prince Edward Island:

Flying: You can fly into Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Halifax, Nova Scotia; or Moncton, New Brunswick. Charlottetown is the most convenient and is only 50 minutes away. Halifax will give you the most flight options and you can drive to P.E.I. by Confederation Bridge or cruise NFL ferries. From Moncton take Confederation Bridge and the cottage is about 2.5 hours from Moncton.

  • From Charlottetown Airport, drive east 50 minutes to Moonlight Cottage By-the-Sea.

  • From Halifax International Airport, NS via Northumberland Ferry Take Rte. 102 North to Truro (65km/45min); at exit #15E take Rte. 104 (Trans Canada Highway) east to Exit #22 (57km/30min); Follow Rte. 106 (Trans Canada Highway) north to the car ferry terminal at Caribou (17km/15min). One hour and 15 minute cruise to Wood Islands, PEI (within 25 minutes of Moonlight Cottage By-the-Sea). Take route 315 north from ferry, sign to Montague. At T-junction turn left on Rte #4 to Montague and then turn right on Rte. #17.

  • From Halifax International Airport, NS via Confederation Bridge 360km (216 miles) Take Rte. 102 North to Truro; At exit #15 take Rte. #104 west through Nova Scotia to Aulac, New Brunswick; At Aulac take exit #513B to Rte. #16 North and follow the signs for Prince Edward Island, Confederation Bridge in Cape Jourimain. (90 mins to Moonlight Cottage By-the-Sea from Confederation Bridge).

  • From Moncton International Airport, NB - 230km (138 miles) Drive to Cape Jourimain, NB and take the Confederation Bridge - a 12.9 km bridge spanning Northumberland Strait from Cape Jourimain, NB to Borden-Carleton, PEI (90 mins to Moonlight Cottage By-the-Sea from Confederation Bridge).
Do you need a car?

Although the Island is small, public transportation is limited. Coastal touring and sight seeing is one of the most enjoyed activities. It is recommended that you rent a car.

How do you find Moonlight Cottage By-the-Sea?

We will provide driving directions from your arrival by ferry, Confederation Bridge or airport. From the closest town, Montague, take Rte. 17. After 5 km turn left on the Lower Montague Road. At a fork in the road stay left by the coast on St. Andrews Pt. Road. Follow the winding coastal road to the sea. Turn left on Snugburry Crescent and Moonlight Cottage By-the-Sea is the last cottage by the ocean.
